New Functionality: Video Embed

Creating Great Content Should Be Easy. Why? Because Olanola strives to do all the rest of the work of marketing and promoting your content, creating a community to engage with your content and creating new channels for you to engage with and share with other content creators. Today, I'll be looking at embedding video on Olanola and showing you how easy it is to get up and running in just a few simple steps.

This is A Generic Video

In what will probably be the shortest tutorial you have ever seen on Olanola ( at least from me ), we will be going over how to embed videos from two Popular sites, namely Vimeo and Youtube today. Both can be completed in two short posts and roughly ten seconds a piece. In, fact it's taking me longer to find a cool video than to embed it.

To embed a Youtube video, simply go the the URL of your preferred video and click the movie icon above in the editor. It will look like this:

Select the Movie Link

It will ask you to place that link that you wanted from Youtube or Vimeo, which you absoultely want. Note all you need is just the URL link to the video, not the embed code, which is what makes this so much easier. Paste the link there and your video should appear down below. Vimeo is known for its incredibly creative videos, so here's an example of a Vimeo embed:

YouTube is the defacto video site for everyone on the web. It's probably going to be adding to Merriam-Webster as a synonym for "watching video". Here's an example of a YouTube embed:

Here's to hoping you don't hate Katy Perry as well. So that's how easy it is to embed videos to Olanola. Hopefully you are enjoying Learning Olanola. Until next time.
